The Cotswolds Distillery, Warwickshire

When Dan Szor, Founder and Ceo of The Cotswolds Distillery began to pursue his plans of setting up an English Whisky Distillery, we were asked to designed the original small Distillery offices and visitors centre.  At the time, the buildings had a very domestic scale but after 4 years and a skyrocketing success, where we saw The Cotswolds Distillery becoming the top recommended place to visit in The Cotswolds, they needed to expand.  We were honoured to be asked once again, to work on the Interior Design of their new offices, Lab and Tasting Room at the new Bottling Hall, and then to be the Interior Designer for the new Visitors Centre, which opened in 2019.

We worked closely with the Distillery to ensure that the New Visitors Centre not only reflected the brand and its location, but that the space itself worked for tour groups as well as those visitors dropping in to the shop, or to enjoy the new café.  In collaboration with the Contractors, Chiltern Designs, we specified all interior finishes, fixtures and lighting for the building.  We designed and oversaw the installation of the bespoke joinery for the Reception, Café Kitchen and Tasting Room Bar.  We also sourced all furnishings and upholstery and ran the budget for this part of the project.  It was a wonderful opportunity to source and re-use older pieces and antiques where we could, which help to create the eclectic and comfortable interior that the client was striving for.
